Iranian born Jila Nikpay
is a filmmaker and a photographer based in Minneapolis,
Minnesota. She has received numerous awards from the Minnesota
State Arts Board as well as the Jerome and McKnight foundations
for her evocative black & white images and films. Nikpays
work has been shown at the Walker Art Center and other venues
nationally and internationally. Central to her work is the
theme of dislocation, embracing the subject of self-knowledge
at its core.
